Oil on gardening weed barrier fabric
Dimensions
24 × 21 in (61 × 53.3 cm)
Year
2022–2024
Created as part of the ongoing Holiday Me / PAYASOY self-portrait series.
A frontal figure emerges against a pale field populated by small clusters of color. Its orange-red face is bordered by black and interrupted by eyes that refuse symmetry. One looks outward while the other appears suspended within a larger chromatic structure.
The yellow garment opens beneath the head like a costume, mantle or pair of exaggerated limbs. Thin red and blue lines connect the central figure to the smaller forms surrounding it.
The artist appears not as a stable likeness but as a festive and exposed being assembled from color, gesture, costume and watchfulness.
