A procession of dark silhouettes crosses the upper edge of the head. Their ambiguous forms suggest animals, figures, memories or miniature performers occupying the portrait’s mental horizon. A black circular form floats nearby like a planet, ornament or punctuation mark.
The self becomes both character and habitat.
The portrait contains other presences and carries its own small carnival with it.
